DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun and easy class assembling your own bat house.
  You will be assembling pre-cut pieces that make up your new neighbor's ho
 me. You may build a box as an individual or as a partner project.\n\nBat h
 ouses should be fastened securely to a pole or the side of a building\, 12
  to 15 feet above ground. They should be on the east side of the house or 
 pole where they will receive sun during the morning and be shaded during t
 he afternoon. Sites protected from the wind and near rivers\, lakes\, bogs
 \, or marshes where insect populations are high will increase the likeliho
 od of use. It may be a good idea to paint the houses brown or black to inc
 rease the absorption of solar radiation.\n\nBenefits to installing bat hou
