DESCRIPTION:Make a Vase! Slab Constructed Ceramic Vases w/ Exhibiting Artis
 t James McFarland\nIn this hands-on workshop\, you will learn to use ceram
 ic slab construction techniques to create your own unique vase in clay. Di
 scussion and demonstrations will include making and assembling clay slabs\
 , tips and techniques for seamless slab construction\, and how to dry your
  work properly to avoid warping or cracking. Surface techniques and glaze 
 finishes will also be discussed.\n\nClay will be provided\, and tools will
  be available for student use. Students may bring their own tools as well.
 \n\nEach student will create at least one slab constructed vase.\n\nWork w
 ill then be fired\, glazed\, and students will be notified when work is re
 ady from pickup. This process takes ~2 or 3 weeks to complete.\n\nAges 14+
 \, all skill levels are welcome. Clay can get a little messy\, so please d
 ress accordingly.\n\nConsider bringing a friend or family member to take t
 he class with you! We look forward to having you at Manor Mill.
