DESCRIPTION:Join Andrea Sauer for a restorative day\, focused on intentiona
 l creativity\, mindfulness\, and nature-based healing practices. Align wit
 h the energies of the season\, connect with yourself and others. Carve out
  time to tend to your own seeds of wisdom and lean into the joy of playful
  and intentional creativity. Find the space and time to metabolize grief a
 nd process the challenging times we are living in. Learn new practices tha
 t spark delight. Leave with a new practice to support you long after the c
 lass. No painting experience necessary! All materials are included in the 
 price. Appropriate for ages 15 and up.\n\nAbout the artist:\n\n\nAndrea Sa
 uer is an artist who focuses on color and composition. She works both real
 istically and abstractly\, predominantly in oils and watercolors. All her 
 paintings focus on her deep appreciation for the natural world and integra
 te her study of shamanism into her practice. She enjoys pushing lush color
 s and playing with the media in innovative ways. Her paintings have won ma
 ny awards and have been exhibited across the U.S. More recently\, Sauer ha
 s combined her twenty years of teaching art in the public school system wi
 th her understanding of trauma and the brain's rewire ability to create a
  class that focuses on using painting as a meditative practice. She explor
 es with her classes ways that indigenous cultures around the world have us
 ed intentional creativity and medicine painting practices to gain insight 
 and heal lingering personal wounds. Beyond a B.F.A. and a M.A.T. from Mary
 land Institute\, College of Art her most proud achievements in the art wor
 ld was to be chosen by Los Angeles County Museum of Art as one of the top 
 12 Emerging Artists in the U.S. and being selected to hang with Andy Warho
 l and Wolf Kahn in the U.S. Embassy in Tajikistan through the Art in Embas
 sies Program -U.S. State Department. Sauer’s studio is in Bel Air\, Mary
